Most of my poetry centers on my experiences growing up on a cotton farm in rural West Texas and my love of nature and food. I also write creative non-fiction, mostly in the form of the memoir essay. My academic writing almost always has a touch of the personal narrative – a common feature of food studies scholarship. My newest adventure is trying my hand at recipe writing.
